Drills, classes, series, and lessons all go through the same status model:
Draft — only visible to the coach (or club admin) who created it, and other coaches in the same organization. Students can't see draft content, even if they're already on its roster.
Published — visible to students it applies to.
Archived — retired; no longer shown to students.
This means you can build a drill, class, series, or lesson over multiple sessions without students seeing a half-finished version. Nothing is visible to students until you deliberately publish it.
A couple of things worth knowing:
For lessons, adding a student to a still-draft lesson doesn't notify them right away — that notification is held and sent in one batch the moment you publish the lesson. Add a student to an already-published lesson and they're notified immediately. See Email notifications: what you'll be notified about.
A lesson's video recording has its own, separate publish status from the lesson itself — publishing the lesson doesn't automatically publish its recording. Make sure both are published if you want students to see the video and its AI-generated summary.
For how to actually publish each content type, see the relevant article in For Coaches.
